This evening, my Papillon mix Treader was eating his raw meal. Cookie, my German Shepherd, was laying next to me and watching Treader eat. She used to just go up to him and steal his food, but I've got her to where she'll leave him alone if I tell her to. He was eating beef tonight. The bones in it weren't very thick because of the part of the body it was from, but still, I knew the bones would be a little too hard for Treader. They aren't too hard for Cookie though. I let Treader knaw (sp?) on them for a while (he's a fairly careful chewer), and then I told Cookie that she could get up. When I did so, Treader turned around to hide his meal from Cookie. Cookie walked around him, casually sniffing the ground. Then she started barking, and when Treader got up to bark with her, she took the opportunity and picked up his bone, going into the back yard to eat it. Smart of her, no?
