It has been bugging the crap out of me the fact that DR has been down for days.
...WHAT!!!!! DR is dead. How why!*goes into corner* This can't be! Ugh! I just joined in November and. . . and . . . and I was just getting what I wanted, NEH . *Runs off flailing arms in a random way* Now I'll have to find something else.

Since this board was based upon offering shows for DR dogs, does that *gulp* mean the end of this board? I hope not. DR might come back one day, and we can always find something for this board to be about.

In my openion, I think this is where we should all chip in and try to preserve the dogs we had registerd on here.
If everyone will come back to DRKC I will put my time and effort into building a new website where we can at least make up our own breeding pairs from there.
Is anyone willing to help out? I can't do it alone.

Yeah Sure adrestia. That is what I was thinking. I was thinkin that all of the DRKC members could pitch in so that we could all be apart of the new DR.
EDIT: I am going to see if I can get an AIM and see if I can get some sense talked into starry so that maybe we can have DR back.

Adrestria: I'd be willing to help out with what I can do. Aussie: We all miss DR, but there is more to the story than we have seen. Even I don't know the whole story, and this is after having some discussion with the former staff members of DR. What I do know that is--according to Noriko and Dali--the site started stressing Starry out, so the mods and admins were talking about operating it for her and she could come on once in a while to do work. Then the site crashed. Everything, gone. If she was to keep DR going, she would have had to recode the entire site. She didn't feel up to the task, so she shut it down completely. There has been some saying that Dali should run the site. Even I thought so, until I was told that (1), Dali is on the opposite side of the country than Starry, and (2) Starry's coding is unique and only she understands it. We can't assume when we don't know the whole story and I think that we shouldn't bombard Starry about it. I'm certain that she's gotten plenty of backchat about it already. If you do talk to her, please remember to be kind and understanding about it.

I've taken a look at Raistlin's proboard. That's great and all but we need pages and graphics in order to get thigns to a moderately "DR like" simulation. All proboards will offer is is simply that, boards. We need more than messages. I am trying to find a free server that we can "rig" It wont be anything fancy and automated like DR since I have no place in CSS, PHP coding but I can work a little bit of magic with some simple html. Does anyone here have any knowledge of CSS, PHP? If so, I have a site that will allow you to work with that for free. Otherwise, I need some volunteers who know HTML and I need yall to help me look for sites that allow it. I used to use msngroups.com but they shut that down. MSNGROUPS.com would allow you to build pages, sub pages, message boards, chats, and html ALL IN ONE. Let me know if yall come up with anything. Right now? I'm thinking of just throwing together a quick little geocities. With that we can have a main "DR Revival" and then everyone can create geocities that are based on their own kennels. From there I, and the other "DR Revival" staff will add their geocities links "kennel names" and add them to a "Kennel Page". So, what do yall think? Here is an example site that show what GEOcitites can provide us. (Remember that the GEOcitites will be temp. until we can find something more permanate.) Also, while running GEO we will have to have a proboards hooked up to it because GEOcities is strictly pages, there is no message board. Though I do think I can rig up guest books that can serve as "kennel comments" ? EXAMPLE SITE: geocities.com/burningdizire/EXAMPLE SITE PROBOARDS:http://burningdezire.proboards.com/index.cgi

I wasn't a member of DR for very long, but I'm sad to see it go. If you are still looking for a free site host/builder www.own-free-website.com/ is pretty good. You can add forums, a guest book, ect., and can make an unlimited number of pages and subpages too. A few downsides to it is that although you can use html in the body of the site as far as I can tell you can't create your own layout, there are some ads, and the forums it allows you to create aren't as good as a proboards one (although they aren't terrible). Another decent site is webs.com. The number of pages you can make with this site are limited, but it allows you to create forums, and gives you full reign to completly code the web page if you want to with html in or just use one of it's page templates. Anyway I hope that helps a little. I have a very, VERY basic knowledge of php and mySLQ coding so if you do find a place that will allow that kind of thing for free I can try to help out with that (I don't know how successful I'll be though, I've only ever done some very basic php code). I'm good with html though. If you find a php friendly host and think you could use some of my help contact me on AnimalAcres.net (Kahvar #10) or simply email me at havepenwillscribble@yahoo.com

That's very helpful. I appreciate the feed back. I am going to go check out ownfreewebsite after this message. The only reason I ask for PHP help is because I know NOTHING about PHP and therefore will NOT be able to animate anything. But if we get some people to volunteer as staff, I will build the website and then staff members will be responsible for deducting money from member accounts when they make purchases etc. What do yall think? Here is the link to apply as staff. PLEASE read all, consider, then apply. geocities.com/amandajekins@rocketmail.com/
