I have some problems with getting headaches, about twice a month. Not big, bad headaches. Slight ones, and once in a great while, I get a medium one. When I get them, they usually only last a few hours or so. They aren't so bad that I have to stop any work that I'm doing, they just make it harder to concentrate. I seem to get them at random times, not always when I'm concentrating hard and not always at...erm...other times usually associated with head aches.
The other week, I had a worse headache where my stomach almost hurt and I almost felt nauseous. Mild migraine? According to my mom, migraines were not uncommon on my father's side, but other than that one recent headache, I doubt that I've ever had a migraine.
Any ideas on what could cause this and how to stop them? Should I see a doctor about it?

migranes. My dad is a neurologist, he knows these things. You should see a doctor to prescribe meds.
Do you get headaches when the lighting changes?

Light has never triggered one that I've noticed, but I do have trouble looking at the bright light of midday. I usually do even without experiencing a headache, but with my headache today it was worse.

One of the most common reasons for headaches is simply stress. Try to get more sleep, and try to have good posture. Maintaining good posture prevents muscle tension and tension-type headaches. Take regular breaks throughout the day to gently stretch your neck and shoulder muscles. This is especially important if work demands that you spend long hours typing or performing computer work. Also, try to keep a "Headache Diary". Everytime you get a headache, write down where you were, what you were doing, and etc. Doing this may help you to pinpoint why it's happening, and how to stop it. For more info, go to: www.umm.edu/altmed/articles/tension-headache-000074.htmThis site will hopefully answer all your questions. Hope you feel better!

Thanks for the info, purplesun. I'll try to do that too.

Also, there's some foods that are said to trigger headaches. If you happen to eat the smae food all the times you have headaches, maybe that's it.
